What type of device are you using?

Getting started on Windows

  1. Check the top-right corner of your browser for the download
  2. Open the file — if SmartScreen appears, click "More info" then "Run anyway"
  3. Click Allow if User Account Control prompts you
  4. Your ID and password will appear on the main screen
  5. Share both with your support agent to connect

No installation needed — runs as a portable app. One-time session.

Getting started on Mac

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag HopToDesk to your Applications folder
  2. Launch HopToDesk — if macOS blocks it, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway"
  3. Click "Configure" in the app to grant the required permissions listed below
  4. Your ID and password will appear on the main screen
  5. Share both with your support agent to connect

Getting started on Linux (Debian / Ubuntu)

  1. The .deb package will download automatically
  2. Double-click to install via Software Center, or run sudo apt install ./hoptodesk.deb in a terminal
  3. Open HopToDesk from your application menu
  4. Your ID and password will appear on the main screen
  5. Share both with your support agent to connect

For best results, use an X11 session instead of Wayland. One-time session.

Getting started on Android

  1. You'll be redirected to the Google Play Store — install the app
  2. Open the app and tap Allow when prompted for screen capture
  3. Go to Settings > Accessibility and enable HopToDesk to allow remote control
  4. Your ID and password will appear on the main screen
  5. Share both with your support agent to connect

Uninstall the app when you're done if you prefer.

Getting started on iOS

  1. You'll be redirected to the App Store — install the app
  2. Open the app — your ID and password will appear on the main screen
  3. Tap "Screen Broadcast", then tap "Start Broadcast" to share your screen
  4. Share your ID and password with your support agent to connect

iOS allows screen viewing only — your agent can see your screen and guide you through each step.

Getting started on Chrome OS

  1. You'll be redirected to the Google Play Store — install the app
  2. Open the app and tap Allow when prompted for screen capture
  3. Your ID and password will appear on the main screen
  4. Share both with your support agent to connect

Requires Google Play Store enabled on your Chromebook. Uninstall when done if you prefer.
